Who are we?

CMS Contracting & Plant Hire has been a trusted name in the civil construction industry for over 20 years, specialising in excavation, demolition, remediation, plant hire, and civil works.

Founded in 2001 by the late Michael “Mick” Snell, the company started with a single tipper and bobcat, driven by Mick’s vision of building something great. Today, that vision lives on.

Based in Silverwater, NSW, we are well-established within the Greater Sydney Metropolitan area and have successfully delivered projects across many parts of New South Wales.

As a family-owned and operated business, CMS continues under the leadership of Mick’s sons, Connor and Jaiden Snell. Having grown up immersed in the industry, they bring passion, dedication, and hands-on expertise to the company. Alongside key management team members Nick O’Kane and Matt Walker, CMS boasts a combined 75+ years of industry experience.

Our team of over 25 dedicated employees, many of whom have been with us for 5 to 20+ years, brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to every project. Their experience directly contributes to the successful delivery of residential, commercial, industrial, and government projects.

Over the years, we have also built a strong network of trusted subcontractors who share our commitment to professionalism, quality, safety, and industry standards. This collaborative approach ensures seamless execution and exceptional results across all our projects.

    In 2018, CMS was engaged by Carfax Commercial Constructions to carry out the demolition of the existing pro-shop as well as detailed earth and civil works for a new driving…

  • VISY Recycling Facility

    CMS Plant Hire was engaged by VISY to carry out the civil works for the installation of a new plastic bottle recycling facility.

    In 2016, CMS were engaged by Rapid Constructions to carry out civil works for Housing NSW to create a new carpark.
